“THE CALVINIST’S ERROR …
THE TOTALLY DEPRAVED
MAN”
(aka
The Doctrines of Grace-ists)
The
Calvinist’s permanent stumbling
block … is trying to uncover Bible truth … while vehemently
resisting with
their tradition.
The
result being lukewarm week-end
chocolate soldiers operating only within the four walls of their church
building.
In
particular … the ordo salutis
… Latin for the order of salvation … that is … what comes first
in the
process of salvation followed by what … and so on.
Now,
for the Calvinists, they are all at
sea … bamboozled … you know … all the terms … where we have …
God choosing
men; Jesus Christ that lighteth all men (John 1:9); God draws
all
men (John 6:44); men receive Christ (John 1:12); God electing
men
in Christ (Ephesians 1:4); men believe on Christ (Acts 16:31);
men are baptised
(1 Corinthians 12:13); given by the Father to Christ (John 6:37
and ten times
in John chapter 17); Jesus Christ loses none … except son of
perdition
(John 17:12).
As
a quick overview, Calvinists will agree
with steps 1 and 5 as revealed in the chart at the end of the article …
but
stumble badly with the rest.
The
Calvinist’s order of salvation
begins with God selecting a man before the foundation of the
world … and
ends … Spiritually baptizing that man into Christ.
First.
Only if God draws you?
The
Calvinist’s error first starts with
them not believing that God draws all men. Is this true?
Of
course not! Christ lighteth every
man that cometh into the world (John 1:9).
That’s
why all men have a conscience
of right and wrong.
All
men have their own standards
… if not the Lord’s standards (James 2:10) … as the verse says … “…
to him
that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (James
4:17).
So
as to the
Calvinist’s belief … that all men are totally depraved … this is
totally false!
Therefore
God is drawing all men to him … by putting ‘the light of
Christ’ in them
(John 1:7) not just a selected Calvinist
few … like a lucky dip out of a hat!
Second.
Men
have a free will to receive and believe on Jesus Christ
The
verse
says “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to
become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John
1:12)
This
is free
will … there is no interference from God the Father to give a totally
depraved man … which is an absolute nonsensical lie … the
ability to
freely choose.
Third.
Those that believe are baptised by God’s
Spirit into Christ.
The
verse
says “… that so many of us as were baptized (by God’s spirit) into
Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
(Romans
6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
Fourth.
Christ
maketh intercession to the Father for those baptised by God’s Spirit
into his
death
“ … he (Christ)
ever liveth to make
intercession for them (with God the Father) ” (Hebrews 7:25).
In essence
Christ says to the Father “Those that are in me … are yours Father.
What will
be your verdict?”
Fifth. God
says “Well done Son … I now give them back to you!”
“All
that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I
will
in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) … PLUS
another ten times in John chapter
17)
Sixth.
What
about Judas … he was given by the Father?
With
Christ
in earth, no-one could be Spiritually baptised into Christ … meaning …
there
was only ever temporary salvation. Yes Judas being the son of perdition
… was
given by the Father … and was therefore lost … not having eternal
security (John
17:12).
SUMMARY:
Dear Reader, can you see the back and forth … the to-ing and fro-ing … between Christ the Son and his Father? The Calvinist misses all that!
God’s work |
Jesus’ work |
Step 1.
God the Father sends Christ (John 8:42) |
|
|
Step 2.
Christ lighteth every man (John 1:9) |
|
Step 3.
All men may freely receive Christ (John 1:12) |
|
Step 4.
All men may freely believe in (John 3:16) … and on
Christ (Acts 16:31) |
Step 5.
Believers are Spiritually baptised into Christ (Romans
6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:13) under Paul’s dispensation. |
|
|
Step 6.
Christ maketh intercession to the Father for those in Christ
(Hebrews 7:25) |
Step 7.
Men are born of God (John 1:13) |
|
|
Step 8.
God the Father giveth them back to Christ (John 6:37) with eternal
salvation for those freely receiving and believing (John 1:12;
Acts 16:31) |
Christ
never
acts independently from God the Father … and is ever obedient …
and always
according to the Father’s will (John 5:30; John 6:57) … always checking
with
the Father with every step.
