JOHN THE BAPTIST IS ELIJAH (Elias) in spirit and power but not physical Elijah.

Elijah returns physically in the tribulation.

Summary:

OT

NT

Transfiguration

Tribulation

Elijah

Physical

Not ‘physical’

Physical

John is Elijah

Elijah IN SPIRIT AND POWER

Malachi 3:1 (KJB)
1  Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

John the Baptist

Also Elijah in the flesh in Revelation

Malachi 4:5-6 (KJB)
5  Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

6  And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

See Rev 11:3-4,6

Elijah comes back in the flesh in the Tribulation.

Revelation 11:3-4,6 (KJB)
3  And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4  These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
6  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Elijah and Moses

Elijah stops the rain

Moses turns waters to blood

Luke 1:13,16-17 (KJB)
13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
16  And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17  And HE SHALL GO BEFORE HIM IN THE SPIRIT AND POWER OF ELIAS, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

(This is also a fulfilment of Mal 4:6)

John the Baptist

John is not Elijah in the flesh, but in spirit and power

Matthew 17:2-3 (KJB)
2  And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3  And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

Elijah with Jesus

Matthew 17:11-13 (KJB)
11  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12  But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13  Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

John the Baptist

John the Baptist

Obviously, Jesus is not Elijah physically or in spirit and in power.

Matthew 11:11-14 (KJB)
11  Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12  And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13  For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14  And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Elias (Elijah) is John the Baptist

“…in the spirit and power of Elias…” (Luke 1:17)

Was William Branham Elijah?
No. 1.
Jesus said “…Elias is come already…” (Matt 17:12). It was John the Baptist.

      2. Branham is dead and the Tribulation hasn’t come yet, so Branham can’t be Elijah.

      3. Was Branham a type of Elijah in spirit and power for the last days? No. He was a liar, a false

Prophet, a false healer and a cult leader with false doctrine.

QUESTION: WAS WILLIAM BRANHAM EVER SAVED?

WILLIAM BRANHAM 1909 – 1965

He was a LIAR, a FALSE PROPHET, a FALSE HEALER and a CULT LEADER with FALSE DOCTRINE.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

2 Timothy 3:13 (KJB)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2 Timothy 4:3 (KJB)

1.   He denied the trinity

2.   He taught the “serpent seed” doctrine – that Eve had sex with the serpent in the garden and that there is a physical remnant in the world today of people who are literally the seed of Satan and can never be saved.

3.   He believed in Calvin’s doctrine of predestination, where God chooses some to be saved and the others he sends to hell. Man has no free will to be saved.

4.   He denied that hell was eternal

5.   He said women can be divorced if they cut their hair

6.   He said unborn children are not alive until they take their first breath

7.   He said that Jesus on earth was only the Son of man but not the Son of God. He only became the Son of God after his ascension. (He was a Oneness Pentecostal).

8.   He started hearing voices at the age of seven.

9.   He constantly prayed to angels

10. He said he was the “angel” of Revelation in Rev 3:14 and Rev 10:7

11. He said he was the prophet to the Laodicean church age

12. He said that the true evidence of being of God was following himself, William Branham.

13. Some followers claim he was born of a virgin

14. Some followers pray to him as a mediator between God and man

15. Some followers get baptised in his name

16. Some followers say he was the incarnation of Jesus Christ

17. He claims to have received the gift of healing

18. He claims to have received the gift of prophecy. He was a false prophet  - the world to end in 1977. Los Angeles to sink into the ocean in 1964.

19. He claims to have been the forerunner of the 2nd coming of Christ.

20. He claims to have been the end time Elijah

21. He claims his teachings and doctrine were given by divine revelation
