“JESUS CHRIST - A MAN APPROVED OF GOD (Acts 2:22)”
  Miracle #18-   “TWO BLIND MEN”
(Matt 9:27-30,31)
A five verse miracle of Israel’s history

If a Jew could see the hidden meaning behind this miracle, he would have to be astounded.

Here is Israel’s PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE all laid out … that of their being found helpless, following Christ, then finding salvation.

This miracle is a concertina(ed) vignette of their trifold history … first, with God Jehovah (Christ) in the Old Testament, and then twice with Christ … at the time of this miracle … then in the tribulation.

“And when Jesus departed thence, two BLIND (helpless) men FOLLOWED him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the HOUSE, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.” (Matthew 9:27-30,31)

1. In the PAST as a nation in the desert:

found helpless … as blind in nativity (Ezekiel 16:4-5)
following Christ (LORD) as the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21)
finding salvation … as in Christ’s house of Canaan (Deuteronomy 27:3)

2. In the PRESENT with these two men:

found helpless … as two blind men (Matthew 9:27)
following Christ … as they followed him  (Matthew 9:27)
finding salvation … as in Christ’s house (Matthew 9:28; Matthew 9:30)

3. In the FUTURE as a nation in the tribulation:

found helpless … as blind in the tribulation (Revelation 6:15;18:18)
following Christ … as the 144,000 (Revelation 14:3)
finding salvation … as in Christ’s house in heaven (Hebrews 9:24)

OTHER LEARNINGS:
1.
Just as the number ‘two’ in the Bible has significance regarding salvation …for example … two birds were needed for salvation (Leviticus 14:49); two leaders in Moses and Joshua were needed for salvation into the promised land of Canaan (Joshua 11:15); one God with two persons God the Father and God the Son (2 Peter 1:17), these two men represent similar numerology.

2. ACCORDING TO THEIR FAITH (Matthew 9:29)
As Christ had not died, it could not be according to Christ’s faith, by which we are saved today (Galatians 2:16)

3. SEE THAT NO MAN KNOW IT (Matthew 29:30)
For two reasons:

(a) Lest Christ attract a circus of unbelievers as in the case of Jairus’ daughter … thereby being unable to work miracles because of their unbelief … and indeed … Christ not wanting to (Mark 5:40; Matthew 13:58; Matthew 10:14).

(b) Christ always acted in accordance with his Father’s will (John 5:30) … such that, before he could go to the cross, Christ would fulfil the whole of the law in the Father’s time … not his own time (Matthew 5:17) … to be made perfect (Hebrews 5:9) for the salvation of the whole world (Romans 5:8; John 3:16).
