BIBLE KNOWLEDGE!
QUESTION:
“DOES PAUL CONTRADICT HIMSELF?
IF I ‘BOAST’ OR AM ‘CONCEITED’ AGAINST ISRAEL, WILL I LOSE MY
SALVATION?
ANSWER:
“NO”
Wrongly understanding Romans 11:15-27 can lead you to this
conclusion.
Keep in mind, scriptures that appear to contradict sound doctrine do
not
overthrow sound doctrine, but are to be clearly explained in the light
of that
doctrine.
There
is nothing in Romans 11:11-27 that has
anything to do with anyone getting saved or getting lost.
If
someone can fall out of Christ or be cut
out of Christ, God would have to mutilate his Son’s body every time
this
happened … indeed God’s own body!
Being
‘highminded’ or ‘conceited against’
Israel simply means God will put a Christian aside but not take away
his
salvation.
CHRISTIANS
CAN BE CUT OFF BUT NEVER CUT OUT
OF CHRIST.
EXPLANATION:
The
words in this case are casting, firstfruit, lump,
root, natural branches, graffed, broken off, cut off, highminded, wild
and good
olive tree,
The
King James Bible Text
Romans
11:15-27
Explanation
15
For
if the casting away of them (Israel)
be
the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but
life
from the dead?
16
For
if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and
if the root
be holy, so are the branches.
17
And
if some of the branches be broken off, and thou,
being a wild
olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them
partakest of
the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18
Boast
not
against the branches (Israel).
But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches (Israel)
were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off,
and thou
standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21
For
if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also
spare not
thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on
them
which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou
continue in
his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23
And
they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in:
for God is
able to graff them in again.
24
For
if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by
nature,
and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree:
how
much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be
graffed into
their own olive tree?
25
For
I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest
ye
should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened
to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26
And
so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come
out of Sion
the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27
For
this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Right
here we can clear up all the so called confusion
with the meaning of the word “casting”. What does it mean? It’s
very
simple. It’s called horizontal Bible studies whereby The King
James
Bible is its own Dictionary that explains the meanings of its
own words.
Paul was fearful of being a castaway (1Cor 9:27). What! He would lose
his
salvation? No. He would simply be put on the shelf and God would not
use him
anymore. His eternal salvation was secure. He is merely stating that he
would
no longer be useful to God.
The firstfruit is Israel being chosen and birthed
Deut 18:4
The firstfruits is God increasing Israel Jer 2:3
The lump is Israel Rom 9:21-23
The root is Jesus Christ Is 11:10; Is 53:2
Israel has its root in Christ Is 37:31
The branches Israel Nahum 2:2
Some of the branches are unsaved Israel
Some of the branches are saved Israel … that is Jews that have
Christ as
their saviour.
that is some of the people of Israel, although their nationality is
Israel,
they are spiritually in Christ. Although they have been physically
circumcised,
they have become spiritually circumcised and become Christians (Col
2:11) As
Paul says in Rom 4:12, there are those that are of the circumcision,
that is
they are physical Israel, but have gone further and received Jesus
Christ as
their saviour … as Paul says “… who are not of the circumcision
only, but
who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which
he had
being yet uncircumcised.” Rom 4:12 Broken off does NOT
mean
cut out. Israel is still in the root.
The wild olive tree is the Gentiles
A graff is a grave. Christians have been put into the grave of
Christ,
that is, put into his death. Christians have NOT BEEN GRAFTED
into
Christ as a graft is still alive.
Christ is the fat olive tree. Christ is the root that beareth
(present,
continuous and on-going for ever) the Christian
Israel has only be broken off not cut out.
Now if Christians get highminded over the Jews, they will be a castaways,
still saved, but broken off and useless. Paul feared about
being a
castaway. Did this mean he could lose his salvation? NO ... but
he would
be put aside from serving Christ.
Israel has been temporarily put aside by Christ but he will graff them
in again
in the seven years of tribulation (Zechariah 12:10)
Severity on the Jew but goodness to the Gentile who has the
opportunity
to be saved.
Cut off is NOT cut out.
God will make the Jews believe again (Zechariah 12:10)
This is the Gentile – the wild olive tree
Christians are graffed into the death of Christ
The good olive tree is Christ
The natural branches are Israel.
Israel
have been temporarily blinded so that the Gentiles
may be saved. CHRIST WILL UNBLIND ISRAEL in the seven
year
tribulation
Out
of heaven shall come Christ who will deliver Israel.
Christ will make an end of Israels’ sins Daniel 9:24.
