“HOW DO YOU
REMEMBER BIBLE VERSES”
Dear
Reader, if you are like me, you may struggle to remember Bible verses.
You
know,
you put in a lot of effort … but then the verse simply slips out of
your mind
like sand through the fingers.
So
I have
had to devise my own system for having permanent memory of verses.
Now
the
secret of remembering anything is REPETITION WITH DETERMINATION.
Dear
Reader
… stick this in your brain … it’s repetition, repetition,
repetition,
repetition, repetition … and lastly more repletion!
In
the
70’s, I taught Mathematics and Physics to High School students … and
this involved
remembering a lot of formulae and such like.
“But
Sir, I
knew it last week … but I’ve forgotten it!”
Yes
Dear
Reader, when you first learn something on Day 1 … say a Bible verse …
on Day 2
it will seem you never learnt the verse.
You’ll
say
“How did that happen? I knew it yesterday … a few days ago … last
week!”
I
mean … it’s
like building muscle … no-one goes to the gym once and expect the
effects to
last.
No
… it’s repetition,
repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition … and lastly more
repletion!
You
never
forget how to tie your shoe laces … why? … repetition,
repetition,
repetition and lastly repetition !!! We do it everyday.
Just
think
of that … if you repeated a verse everyday several times you’d never,
ever
forget it … would you? I guarantee you’ll dream the verse in its
perfection.
STEP
1
It must be
the King James Bible.
Why?
God’s
Spirit hovers over his perfect words … nothing else … God’s infallible,
inerrant, inspired words.
STEP
2
Perfect
the
repeating of every syllable … do not leave any out.
Take
the
word ‘recognition’ … it has four (4) syllables as follows …
“Re
- cog –
nit – ion”
Let’s
take
JOHN 3:16
For God so
loved the world
(6 syllables)
Line 1
that he
gave his on-ly be-gott-en Son
(10 syllables) Line
2
that
who-so-ever
believe-eth in him
(10 syllables) Line 3
should not
per-ish but have ev-er-last-ing life
(11 syllables) Line
4
27
syllables … God’s perfect number … 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 … the Godhead
(‘trinity’ x
3).
Now just
suppose you had never learnt this verse before … this is what you need
to say
to yourself
…
if you have bad memory …
“Ah! John
3:16 … the verse has 27 syllables … six, ten, ten, eleven. I
can’t
remember the whole verse but I’ll learn the first six”
repetition,
repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition,
repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition,
repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition … and you do
this for three
days straight
“For God
so
loved the world … For God so loved the world … For God so loved the
world … For
God so loved the world … For God so loved the world” … fifty times
a day
if you have to!
Drive
yourself nuts if you have to. Say it out loud too!
Then
repeat
this process for Line 2
Then
repeat
this process for Line 3
Then
repeat
this process for Line 4
CONCLUSION:
How ever
you do it …
it’s
simply
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION,
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION,
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION,
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION,
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION,
REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION, REPETITION!
