“ARE YOU A
SHIBBOLETH ‘CHRISTIAN’?”
“Then said
they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth:
for he
could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him
at the
passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites
forty and
two thousand.” (Judges 12:6)
Ever asked
yourself these questions:
How good do I
have to be to
get into heaven? What standard does God
use to let people into heaven?
Is it just a
matter of
crossing your fingers & hoping you’ll get there?
These
questions plague the Roman Catholic to the point of despair. Martin
Luther
almost went insane! Bible believing Christians have the certainty of
heaven but
close to one billion church adhering Roman Catholics don’t know
IS
THIS YOU?
*
I
go to church. I believe in God and pray to Him. I believe in Jesus and
the Holy
Spirit.
*
I
know that God’s grace saved me by having faith in Jesus Christ.
*
I
believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins, was buried & rose
again the
third day.
*
To
the best of my ability I try to keep the Ten Commandments.
*
I
came from a Christian family and went to church every Sunday and Sunday
School.
*
I
currently go to church was confirmed into the church through
confirmation
classes.
*
I’ve
asked Jesus to forgive my sins and come into my heart and be Lord of my
life.
*
I
take Holy Communion.
*
I
love God. I love other people and help not just Christians but
non-Christians
as well.
*
I
support overseas missionaries.
*
I
believe the Apostles Creed & I can recite it.
*
I
ask God daily to help me by the Holy Spirit.
*
I
ask Jesus to help me every day.
*
I
sometimes fast but not as often as I should.
*
I’ve
been to a Billy Graham crusade, went out the front and asked Jesus to
come into
my heart.
CONGRATULATIONS!
YOU’RE PROBABLY
A ROMAN CATHOLIC!
This
may shock you and then again ...not! The above sentiments are being
echoed by
countless Protestant millions as we are living at a time when the
difference
between Christianity and Roman Catholicism seems negligible in the
minds of
most.
IS THE
CHRISTIAN & ROMAN CATHOLIC RELATIONSHIP
TO GOD THE SAME?
Are
those differences worth fighting for today? Can you tell the difference
between
Christianity and Roman Catholicism? Is it possible to compromise and
negotiate
a reasonable and sensible outcome between the two faiths?
Did
the countless Protestant martyrs who died cruel and horrible deaths get
it all
wrong?
Can
you give the reasons why Rome has killed, conservatively estimated,
70-90
million people since 1200AD?
WHAT IS A
CHRISTIAN?
One
who goes to church? No.
One
who believes in God? No.
One
who loves his fellowman as Himself? No.
One
who tries to keep the Ten Commandments? No.
One
who does his best? No.
You
can do good works for a million years and you still won’t get into
heaven. Many
Roman Catholics are dedicated, religious and sincere - but sincerely
wrong
& that’s the very thing that’ll see them in hell.
“Now to him
that worketh
is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that
worketh not,
but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted
for
righteousness.” (Rom 4:4-5)
Now
that’s interesting! God justifies the
ungodly - not God justifies the godly! You see my friend, Catholics
believe
that you can’t have right standing with God unless you are pure within.
This
causes no end of heartache and trauma for the poor Catholic as he tries
to
remain pure within in order to be accepted by God.
Most
of them are falling in and out of heaven … but of course they never
got into
heaven in the first place … at least a thousand times a day. 100%
of
Catholics (especially the Pope) aren’t sure that if they died right
now, where
they would end up.
It’s
very sad that Catholics are hoping to impress God with their
`curriculum vitae’
(resume, job application, qualifications) to enter heaven. In 100% of
cases,
God will say not good enough – “Depart from me I never knew you.”
Imagine
that! Fancy grinding away down here for most of your life to get the
“brownie
points” to get into heaven only to find yourself in the Lake of Fire
for all
eternity with no hope of pardon!
How
horrible to hear God Himself say, “You were working from the wrong rule
book.
Who told you that you could get into heaven by your own righteousness.
Sorry!
Off to hell”
A CONVERSATION:
This
might take place between Jesus at the White Throne of Judgment &
the
Catholic after he has found that his name isn’t in the Book of Life:
Jesus
Christ: “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting
fire, prepared for the devil & his angels:” (Matthew 25:41)
Roman
Catholic: “But I spent all my whole life doing good works.
Doesn’t that count for something?”
JC:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is
a gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
RC:
“But I prayed to Mary just like the Pope does!”
JC: “That’s
idolatry and no idolater shall enter heaven.”
(1 Corinthians 6:9)
RC: “I was an
altar boy and went to mass every week!”
JC: “Mass isn’t
found in the Scripture.”
RC: “But Mass is
the unbloody ongoing sacrifice at Calvary!”
JC: `That’s a
lie! The sacrifice was completed on the cross when I cried ...It is
finished!” (John 19:30,
Hebrews 10:26)
RC: “But being
baptized as a baby cleansed me from original sin and made me a
Christian, right?”
JC: “Wrong! Only
the blood
I shed on Calvary can cleanse sin.” (1 John1:7; Romans 5:9)
RC: “But I
confessed my sins to Father Vincent and he forgave me.”
JC: “Wrong again!
I paid the price for sins and only I can forgive sins. The
Catholic church lied to you.” (John 10:33; Matthew 11:28; Mark 2:5,7)
RC:
“Don’t you love the Roman Catholic Church?
JC: “How can I,
they have murdered 70 million souls for believing you are saved by
trusting in my work on the cross.” (Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9)
RC: “But I don’t
want to burn in hell forever. Can’t I get saved now?”
JC: “It’s too
late! Only the living can do that! “Depart from me, ye cursed,
into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil & his angels.”
(Matthew 25:41)
THIS
WILL BE THE ULTIMATE IN TERROR!
Isn’t
she in heaven now? Not from what she said! Mother Teresa believed that
Mary was
her Co-Redeemer and relied on her to get her into heaven.
She
further believed that her good works were alone sufficient to get her
into
heaven.
(Note:
Teresa had millions in the bank but wouldn’t buy any medicine for the
suffering
people in her care as they lay dying. Why?
Good
ol’ Catholic theology says that their suffering here on earth would
help purge
their sins and make it easier for them to enter heaven.)
Martin
Luther almost went insane with his own sinfulness as he tried to get
rid of it.
Until God graciously opened his eyes to the fact that man is saved by
faith
alone by the work of Christ alone on the cross.
“For
by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is
a gift?
of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
(Eph
2:8-9)
“And
if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more
grace. But
if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more
work.”
(Rom 11:6)
So
a Christian according to Scripture is one who trusts solely that the
shed blood
of Jesus Christ was total payment for sin.
“It’s
as important as the Bible!” says Rome.
But
how could wearing a scapular when you die guarantee you entry into
heaven? This
and hundreds of other traditions for salvation will see Catholics go to
hell
for trusting in the tradition of man.
Hear
what the Bible says about man and his traditions:
“Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the
tradition
of men... and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)
“Making
the word of God of none effect through your tradition...” (Mark 7:13)
Quite
clearly the tradition of man is a very poor one. Why would God in
heaven would
need the self-righteous work of a man assisting in the work of
salvation? He
doesn’t.
It’s
like the carpenter with coarse sandpaper giving the once over to the
already
gleaming and perfectly French-polished table. Absolute folly! It has
also been
said that trying to get into heaven on anything other than the
righteousness of
Christ is like trying to climb to the moon on a rope of sand! Mission
Impossible!
“WHAT ARE YOU
COUNTING ON TO GET YOU INTO HEAVEN?”
THIS IS THE
ONLY WAY –
God’s
standards are too high for anyone to keep. That’s why the Ten
Commandments will
keep you out of heaven. They show that we’re all sinners. God is
waiting for
you to come to him as a poor wretched sinner with nothing to offer and
say:
“DEAR
GOD I’m a sinner and deserve your eternal wrath in the fires of
hell. The
Roman Catholic religion can’t save me - only the shed blood of Jesus
paid the
penalty for my sins. Please forgive all my sins of attempts of good
works and
right living to get right standing with you. Save me now. AMEN.”
QUESTION: Why
will a billion Roman Catholics go to
hell when they die?
ANSWER: They don’t
believe Jesus
Christ when he said on the cross – “It is finished.” – no more mass, no
more to
pay, no religious organization to join, no `entry fees’, no more good
works, no
trying to keep the Ten Commandments.
This
is why Catholics can’t call themselves Christians.
Dear
Reader, What are you trusting in? Do you have the assurance that when
you die
that you’ll go to heaven. “..that ye may know that ye have eternal
life...”
(1 John 5:13)
MAKE THE
DECISION TODAY! ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN OR A
ROMAN CATHOLIC.
Will
you become a Christian and have eternal life in heaven or will you
remain a
Catholic and burn in hell forever?
“Then said
they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth:
for he
could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him
at the
passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites
forty and
two thousand.” (Judges 12:6)
You may be able to
fool others but you can’t fool God.
He
knows whether or
not you are a Shibboleth Christian … a true one … or an imposter
Sibboleth
Christian.
