“SIR WE WOULD SEE JESUS”

there were certain GREEKS among them that came up to worship at
the
feast: The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of
Galilee,
and desired him, saying, SIR, WE WOULD SEE JESUS.”

Dear
Reader, if you read some of our other articles, you will see how the
Greeks do not
get a good write up in the Bible. (We have attached some
below)
Put
it this way, if the Lord would have us read the Bible in Greek instead
of English
… guess what? … God would have let Greece conquer the world.
But
God did not.
There
was a better language that took over … English!
The
world’s language for all activities is English … business,
communication, law, trade and so on.
No-one
in their right mind says “Oh! I’d better start talking in Greek so
people will
understand me better.”
No!
All the world goes crazy wanting to learn English … after their own
their own
language of say Swahili or Calathumpian.
No
African with all his cranial neurones intact says “Right! It is
imperative that
I now learn Greek … having mastered my own language of Bemba.”
So
a
man from the nation of Zambia, wanting a job in the Finance and
Business world,
applies for a job in the National Bank of Zambia, and his resume states
that he
has not only got Grade A’s in his Bemba finals, but also got A’s in
Greek.
So
the hiring Bank Manager says at the interview “I can’t understand Mr
Mumba,
that you have learnt Greek for a career in Finance to work here at the
Bank of Zambia.
Please go away and learn English … you are absolutely useless to us …
we want
someone with English!”
So
here’s the thing Dear Reader, God’s final perfect written authority
English King James Bible
is not … the Greek Bible or the
Hebrew
Bible.
Q:
So why do people put their English Bible study car in
reverse to learn
the
Greek?
A:
“Arrogance is the
obstruction to knowledge, understanding and wisdom”
Like
the blind man in Mark’s gospel who only saw trees the first
time Jesus
spat in his eye (Mark 8:24),
so are the people, resorting to the Greek,
when
studying the Bible, will only see Jesus as a
foggy tree.
“Wake
up man! Take your Greek coloured glasses off to study the Bible … and
you will
clearly see Jesus … not Jesus through a Greek tree!”
The
snake (Satan) has two ‘eyelids’ … and the second one is called the
Greek.
